Edward H. White School

Edward H. White elementary school, 1136 W. 122nd, Built in 1968, it's a nicely-kept modernist building. Unusual for Chicago Public Schools in that classrooms open directly onto the playground.

Built in 1971, this city college was probably one of the boldest expressions of Brutalism in Chicago. I had the opportunity to document the interiors and exteriors before it was demolished in 2010.
